Relationship Manager - Edison, NJ  

Position Summary:


The Relationship Manager is responsible for managing a successful and profitable branch.  The RM will hold the responsibility of ensuring that goals are met, staffing is adequate and performing to the Unity Bank standards, and the customers are engaged and satisfied with Unity Bank’s services.  The position of the RM is a robust and demanding position that will require individuals with a positive attitude, the desire to achieve all goals, a passion for the banking industry and dedication to do what is needed to be successful.


Job Duties:


Business Development


·         Assess, develop and implement strategies that contribute to the organizations overall growth and profitability


·         Cultivate long term customer relationships to maximize retention, growth and profitability.

·         Ensure that the branch maintains a rating of no less than Satisfactory on the annual audit through the active communication and management of the Assistant Relationship Manager and Customer Service Supervisor.


·         Active participation with all activities on a Regional and Market level including but not limited to; completion of weekly call reports, weekly conference calls, monthly sales meetings, cold calling, dollars for deposit promotions and market meetings and huddles.


·         Control all aspects of expense and loss as it relates to the bottom line through monitoring and planning of all expenditures that will include but are not limited to; marketing budgets, meals and entertainment budgets, fee retention, account losses, and branch supplies.


Financial Responsibilities:


·         Accountable for ensuring minimal loss to Unity Bank through the adherence of bank policy on but not limited to overdrawn/uncollected items, account opening process, teller differences, rebate/waiver of fees,  and general ledger balancing.


·         Accountable for monitoring and adhering to budgets as assigned by Retail Administration.


Length of time and Type of Previous Education/Experience Required:


·         High school degree or equivalent


·         College degree preferred


·         Minimum of 3-5 years previous Management experience, preferably in the Financial services field


 


 


Expected Skill Sets:


·         Ability to manage, coach and lead a $60 MM+ deposit base office comprising of at least 6 or more staff members.


·         Computer literate with the ability to utilize all programs including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet and specific bank related software.


·         Able to multitask while prioritizing responsibilities and tasks.


·         Able to communicate clearly orally and written.

·         Control all aspects of expense and loss as it relates to the bottom line through monitoring of the daily office activities that include but are not limited to, daily overdraft decisions, monitoring of mandatory reports, adherence to the new account opening procedures and activities of the Service Leader.


·         To achieve or surpass the goals that are set by the Regional Sales Manager thus ensuring the growth of their office and Unity Bank as a whole.

Business Development

·         Offer positive support of the Relationship Managers’ in branch sales initiatives through the participation of but not limited to; daily huddles, calling nights, out bound sales calls, and business development calls.
